Hello from Western NY - Home of the Bills and Taxes

Just got on board. Great site!

I concentrate on 1/72 scale aircraft and am currently working on attaining such scale models of all aircraft used by the Blue Angels, including support aircraft. Prior to the KC-130F "Fat Albert", what aircraft were used? Contacted the Blue Angels websight weeks ago and have yet to receive a reply. I have kits of all the demonstration aircraft.

Additionally, I am trying to complete a series of all previously and currently US operational jet aircraft. Only one I seem to be missing is the first operational jet, I believe it was the Airacomet?? Help with this kit in 1/72 would be appreciated.

Finally, can't seem to find the Heller web site - again, any help appreciated. Smile [:)]

Thanks,

John M

Welcome to the FSM Forums Sign - Welcome [#welcome]. Special Hobby, part of the MPM family, very recently released kits of the P-59A/B Airacomet in 1/72 scale. It should be available on most web stores at this time. There is also a 1/48 kit from Hobbycraft.

Regards, Rick

Welcome aboard, John. The 'Blues' used a Connie before Fat Albert, and before that a military variant of the DC-4 I think... I can check when I'm home tonight. I have a list of all their aircraft...

What a great site - Some really good people with great advice!

However -- butchy, don't rub in Bledsoe. His and Malloy's arrival was to be our redemption. Still working on it. Secondly, obviously you are or were a submariner. I was Navy (USNA '68). My nephew graduated from USNA last May AND HE WENT MARINE AIR! Just kidding about that "however" - there's always been a friendly (?) relationship between us real Navy and the Corps! Are you going to watch the Army/Navy game tomorrow?

To get back to modeling topics, I have found Blue Angels decals for "Fat Albert" and most of the demo craft. Any possible distributors that anyone can recommend for the Angels for the "Connie"?

In closing, I am envious [:0] of the model photos posted! Hope to attain half the skills you guys have.

John M
