The New Guy
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 4:09 PM
Well another new guy here.

Well I have been into models since of course a kid.

I did a few tanks.
I think armor is my favorite kits next to sci fi stuff.
But most all of my sci fi kits are also armor! Big Smile [:D] So about the same thing.

I didn't build to much for about 4 years when I joined the military for Desert Storm. I was in the Army and Stationed at 10th Mountain, New York.
I live in California now.

I came home and got married and the X-wife hated me spending our money on little toy soldiers and plastic junk....... Angry [:(!]

So after I got rid of her.... Black Eye [B)] ouch.... Divorce hurts.

I started in with mostly gaming and so building sci fi stuff was a big part of it for me.
This was about 4 years ago around 2000.
I started by getting into 40K as a way of gaming and playing again and getting into stuff again.

I really like to build and I have no real skills other than pure love of the models.
No scholl and no art or talent that I know of.
But I love to do it.

When I got up and building and creating stuff I entered a contest back in 2001 summer and I actually won.
It was a build a new vehicle desing for the 40K game.

I built this. (the 6 wheeler is what won)

Anyways since then I have started to paint better and convert and create better.
I have taken alot more interest in my hobby.
I still do this in my free time like most of you and I am re married as of last week and she loves to see what I am building and incourages me to build stuff and to enter or go to shows etc.
And in our new house I am getting a hobby room!
How cool is that. Ya shes a keeper.Cool [8D]

Well cool and I like the site and I buy the magazine so its funny that I havent stopped in sooner.

But hey I am now and I am glad to be here.

Hello Greydeath, Welcome to the forum. It's always great to see a new face in the Sci-Fi section as well.

Greetings and salutations!!!! Welcome! Yeah new wives are like getting a new car, the one you've always wanted and can finally qualify for! Once you get it you never wanna trade it in!

My ex-wife didn't pay much mind to my hobby, but when I deployed out to Desert Storm she threw all my kits away... probably figured her new boyfriends would want to play with them too much... Wink [;)]

Anyway.. good to see new blood here!!
