Hello from New Zealand
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, December 18, 2004 11:25 AM
Hi, my area of interest is World War two fighters and German tanks. I have just been looking on the web to find out some information ont the Chinese "Trumpeter" 24th scale Mustang P51 and the Messerschmidt BF 109 G, kit sets as far as quality and costs go. I have a few 24th Scale Airfix models and wonder if the trumpeters would complement them? I look forward to some sound advice on this matter, cheers Erin

Welcome to the FSM Forums Sign - Welcome [#welcome]. I don't build anything larger than 1/48, but from published reviews the 1/24 Trumpeter kits are very nice. They are modern tooled kits with more & better detail than the older Airfix kits. But that comes at a price as the Trumpeter kits are quite expensive.

Regards, Rick

hey Erin! Welcome to FSM forums!!!

As an additional note to Mike's post, there is an upcoming group build (a bunch of us getting together and building a certain subject, in between BS'ing with each other about cow tipping and roo riding)

Starting Jan 26 I believe is the Aussie GB, model anything Aussie. military or civilian... aircraft, ships, armor, vehicles, figures etc... BUT, immediately following that, no specific time frame yet, is the ANZAC Group build.. anything flyable that served with the RAAF, RNZAF or ANZAC.... and somewhere we are planning a North Africa campain group build also...

the link to the Aussie GB is:

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?page=1&TOPIC_ID=30833

details on the other two can be found within...

Welcome!!! (PS I am not Aussie or from NZ, I just play one in the movies Cool [8D] )

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Erin,

Good to have another resident Kiwi, it was getting a bit lonely here. Where abouts in NZ are you?

Welcome Erin, in planes is a bit to big for me (only cause I wouldn't know where to put them), but those new trumpeter (I always wonder if they made a wrong translation in that name) seem interesting.
