Glad I came here
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, January 2, 2005 10:08 AM
Although it appears I signed up with this forum nearly 2 years ago, it must have been to ask a specific question, so I am not entirely new, I have come here quite often to read everyones postings, or to find information.

You will probably see me post much more often in the future, I love this hobby and have been modeling off and on my entire life, I can't even remember my first kit, it was most likely a gift when I was a kid.

As it happens with many of my interests, I often find the internet forums the greatest place to share my enthusiasm with others, most of the people I know consider modeling to be childish, I'm 38 now and if building models makes me childish then so be it. I always want to show off my completed projects but the only one who really takes an interest is my wife.

You will see me around and I will maybe share some photos of my childish work with you. Wink [;)]

Welcome Paz! There's nothing childish about it... and I don't think they think when they say that... I've seen people ooooh'ing and aaahhh'ing at the Lone Star Flight Museum over a dio of a B-24 that went down in N. Afrika during WWII and they probably don't realize it was done by a modeler... not a curator, an architecht or engineer...

Good to have you here! And if you are childish then you are amongst good (childish) company here!! Wink [;)]

Thanks for the welcomes, this seems like a friendly place so far, I'm sure you all know how rude some forums can be, it can sometimes take me a while to feel comfortable when joining a new forum, I plan to visit here daily and start racking up the posts, but it is back to work tomorrow and time allocation will become more difficult between building, internet, and other hobbies and projects.

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon
