New modeler with historical tid bit..
Hello,
My names Joe. I'm 30 years old and brand new at scale aircraft modeling. I have a high stress job and model building gives me and outlet which seems to be working well. My interest in WW2 warbirds starts with the B-17 bomber for sentimental reasons. My late grandfather (Hershel) was a ball gunner on the "Cash and Carrie" out of the 390th bomber group (England). He was shot down on his 13th mission (Muenster Germany, October 10th, 1943) and spent the remainder of the war in Stalag 17B. My best friend (and incredible model builder) is currently recreating an "Exact" replica of "Carrie" out of the 1/48 scale Monogram "G" kit. He's even converting it to an "F" which "Carrie" was. Anyways, watching him, of course, got me into the trade and have now completed two kits (a Spitfire and Thunderbolt). I'm now working on the Monogram A-10 which, believe it or not, my wife bought for me. I guess she figures its better than being out "boosing" eh.
Thanks for having me in the forum for I will probably have "many" questions and, as stated earlier, I am brand new at this. I've already posted a question reference the A-10. What a headache
.
Joe
