Another Howdy from Texas
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, January 16, 2003 2:05 PM
Greetings all,

My name is Jesse and I guess my story is pretty much the same as everyone else's. Was into models when I was very young and rediscovered them as an adult. Nothing spectacular about the models I built back then except that on the 4th of July every year, me and my cousin would destroy our years worth of models with firecrackers and bottle rockets. Around the summer of 2000, I found myself in a Hobby Lobby. I hadn't been to a hobby store (if you can call hobby lobby a hobby store) in years. I happened to come across the model isles and I was hooked again. I spent a couple of hours handling about every box on the isle. Models had seem to come a long ways since I was a kid. I picked up a FSM magazine that day at a book store. Over the next couple of months, I bought kits, paints and all sorts of accessories. I have a work desk that my wife tolerates and lots of kits that I need to find time to build. I've found myself attracted to 1/48 WWII aircraft and 1/35 armor. But perhaps my biggest passion is muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

So, that's my story. I have yet to obtain an airbrush and compressor yet. It seems whenever I talk myself into being able to spend that much money, I always end up deciding I could better spend that money on kits.

What a great 4th of July tradition!! Nothing like a little bit of destruction and fireworks. Tongue [:P]

Welcome to the forum. While things may not be as exciting as blowing things up with fireworks, I'm confident you'll find a lot of good discussions and tons of advice. Smile [:)]
