Sign - Welcome [#welcome] I think a white color makes them stand out agains the dull gray of most modern aircraft and adds a little more color to an other wise gray world.

Or mayde thats just my FAB 5 side coming out, and the perma cloud talking.

Welcome Charles,

I may very well be wrong, but I'm only personally aware of two colours for sidewinders--blue and white. Blue being unarmed "practice" units and white being the real thing--"war shots". Check out the site Chopperfan listed--it'll probably know a lot more than me.

First of all Sign - Welcome [#welcome] I think that you are going to enjoy the forum with it's many knowledgeable members.
Second, this is just one site that I have found with pictures of various weapons. Hope it helps in your quest. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/aim-9-pics.htm
Oh and remember that the blue bodied sidewinders are inert practice missiles.
