The title of this forum is not FineScale PLASTIC Modeler!!! Just FineScale Modeler. I don't care if you like to model 19TH century garden tools in macaroni. We all share a common bond, the love of model building, and we all have something to contribute.

Welcome aboard

Ok, Bayonet Recon's post of encouragement got me over the edge to say hello. Iv'e used the forum a bit but have not introduced.

I'm a 46 year old Software Engineer (doing more like high level Data Analyst work though...). I "grew up" on the TV show Combat! (Boy I wish they'd come out with more of those on video!) and all the WWII movies many of you know and love as well, I'm sure.

Anyway, I did a few models as a kid, only a Corsair is the only thing I remember specifically. O yes, a nuclear sub too. Pretty sure i did others. I just enjoy airplanes a lot, looking at them and modeling them.

Basically in the past 5 years or so have done a handfull, and my enthusiasm has really stuck lately. So projects in that time or so have been:

1/48 P-40
1/72 Panther ( I think that's a cool looking jet )
1/48 Bf 109
1/48 Spitfire
Guillows balsa/tissue Nieuport II
1/35 car, a Z3
Guillows balsa/tissue Hellcat
1/48 Corsair
1/72 B-24 Liberator - gave to a WWI vet, now passed away, who was a radio operator on one.
Currently finishing Guillows balsa/tissue P-40

I know this is a plastic model web site, but thought the Guillows might be of interest.

But, I hope to try some armor & figures next, have a couple Tamiya kits.

Well, this is probably too long now. I have really been enjoying the forum.

A picture of the Liberator is at http://www.safeplace.net/darienk/b24_3.jpg
It was my second airbrush project.

Well, later!
