Thanks for the kind remarks. I forget how positive comments can motivate to get the modelling gear out.

Cheers

Hello Alyn, Welcome to the forum. Those are great figures! I always liked those Phoenix Phollies figures.

Hi from Yorkshire

I'm relatively new to the forum so I thought it appropriate to introduce myself...

My name is Alyn Nicholls and I live near an area of Yorkshire called Gunthwaite; hence the name Al Gunthwaite! I have been modelling almost continuously for over 40 years, the exceptions being a couple of teenage years when it was a little uncool and there were other distractions such as women and cars.

I have broad modelling interests including figures, aircraft, cars and AFV's. In respect of aircraft I am interested in RAF between the wars. I have scrachbiult a few 1920's/1930's fighters in my time but none of which have survived various house moves.

My interest in figures nowadays is mostly aviation related. I mastered some 54mm figures for Realmodels in the late 1970's (I believe that some of the pilot figures may still be available) and I mastered practically all of the Airwaves 1/48 and 1/72 scale figures.

I don't get much time for modelling nowadays but I am working on some 1/72 scale Royal Navy figures. The idea is that these will accompany FAA aircraft but they will also provide crew for the Airfix Vosper and Revell/Matchbox Flower Class Corvette.

My other interests include music, motor cars, fine wine, food and a fine woman!

An example of my painting on of the Phoenix "Phollies" is as follows:

Examples of 54mm figures I have scuptured are as follows:

(I hope those links work!)

So, I hope to post news and get involved in discussions...

Cheers
