Hey Claude, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forums. I too am a FAA A&P mechanic. Don't work on planes that much anymore, but enjoy the life of testing military vehicles.

Hi guys... new to DETAILED model building here!

Hi all!

I used to build a lot of models back in my youth and through my college days. But after college my wife and I did quite a bit of moving around and EVERY single model I have built has been long since destroyed.

I am finally in a place in my life where we should be fairly stable (job wise...mentally is another question entirely Big Smile [:D] ).

I started playing a game on my PC (the other hobby in my life, PCs and Home Brewing) called Silent Hunter III. Its a German U Boat sim that is absolutely WONDERFUL in its simulation depth and totaly engaging.

While surfing Ebay I found a 1/72 scale German Uboat (Type VIIC) and I thought .. WOW THAT would be a neat model to build. So the bug has bit me again after years away.

Not only has the model building bug bit me...but in a moment of insanity I also have considered taking up Airbrushing for that added realism. So in a search on google for airbrushing equipment and 'how to" I found this site.

I then remembered seeing either this magazine or one like it as a kid... and thoughts of dioramas went through my head Smile [:)]

Anywho... now that I have more money than I did as a college or highschool student, I think its time to take my modeling to the next level. No more Rattle cans for me.

So as a nub... you will probably see me in the airbrush forum and others quite a bit. Once I start on a hobby Im not happy until I learn the details, and practice them until I have come close to perfecting them Big Smile [:D]

I look forward to chatting with the scale modeling vets .... thanks for a great forum!!
