Hi everyone. I've been building models most of my life but this is the first time I've ever attempted to join a forum. I build all sorts of kits but unfortunately don't have the resources to improve my kits with aftermarket parts. I try to scratchbuild the parts if possible. I need some advice. Is there any way to replace broken clear windshields on car kits? I can't order the part from the manufacturer because the kit is discontinued. Are there any other options than tyring to find another kit for the replacement? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum Huey, it's nice to have you here.

As for your question, you're probably better off posting it in the Auto forum where the experts can help you out.

Cheers

Welcome to FSM!
You could try vacuforming your own windshield.
Ask more about that over at the auto forum, and I'm sure you'll get a flood of rensponses!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I did post my question in the auto forum and I got some good advice. Here's what I was told to do: use clear thermaform from Squadron I just heat it with a candle until it's soft and stretch it over the part I want to replace and after it cools, I have a windshield. I was told that 0.10 would probably be thick enough for the job. Thanks again for all the welcomes and replies.

Hey everyone I need to make a correction. The correct thickness of the thermaform sheet is .010 not 0.10 as I posted earlier.
