New member here. The thing said to list modeling subjects, so here goes:

-military aircraft
-sci-fi ( Star Trek, Star Wars, B5, Anime, and a few odds & ends )
-historical space
-occasional historical ships ( mostly WWII era )

Other hobby-related info:
-Don't consider myself a perfectionist with my kits ( the wife would debate, tho )
-My idea of my models being "done well enough" is "I wouldn't be embarrassed to display it in public."
-I'm not competitive, except in a friendly way, so I don't hoard "secret techniques." If I can help someone, I do. I figure reducing another's frustration over a kit helps make sure we kitbuilders don't become any more of an endangered species than we already are.

Pet Peeves:
-Pre-painted and factory-assembled miniatures beng advertised as "models."
-Plastic human figure kits. I've yet to find one that didn't have serious fit problems.
-Full-hull ship kits. The reason I don't have many is that filling/sanding the keel tends to make me want to put the thing away until I'm over the frustration, which is usually about 5 years later.
-Large-scale shuttle kits. See "Full-hull ship kits."
-Hobbycraft kits. Okay, I've only bought one of these, but I was a little disappointed that the kit didn't include decals for the squadron on the box ( it was a 1:144-scale F-14, supposedly with "Sundowners" tail markings ). I have since refused to buy another kit from that company as a form of protest.

See you around the site.

Hi Scott, and welcome. Hope you'll find the forum useful. Sounds like you have Hobbycraft's number, all right! :)

Hello Kugai, Welcome to the forum. You have a very interesting spread of subjects you are building! I have just recently took an interest in building Star Trek kits. I hope to see you around the A/C and Sci-Fi forums.Wink [;)]
