Hasegawa Egg Planes

Big Smile [:D]
Hi Guys,

Though I have been a modeler for over 40 years, I have recently become more of a collector of sorts. My name gives away my current passion of collecting and building Hasegawa Egg Planes! The scale seems to be grade A cool and loads of fun. Here is a kit you can build in little time and not worry about detail, scale, or criticisms. Everyone seems to enjoy them when they see them. Most people have never seen or heard of them before so, they come as a surprise to many. I have a difficult time finding them at a reasonable price because they are no longer produced. If you know of any extras out there, please let me know.

I also enjoy building "REAL" scale models too. Glad to be a new subscriber to the web page. I have been a FSM reader for years! You guys and Kalmbach make it my favorite mail to look forward to.

It's nice to be here since there are no model clubs or great hobby shops for miles around me. I look forward to meeting others with like interests and ideas about modeling.

Hey there, Keith. Welcome to the Forum. You've come to the right place. Where else can you enjoy the company of other modellers any time, any day?

By the way, Ive seen some of the Egg Series before and they do look cute.

Welcome to FSM Keith. Just consider this to be your "great online model club".
How about some pics of your little hatchlings, we'd all love to see them.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Hi Keith,

I'm a big fan of those egg planes, though I haven't seen one in years! Here's a site you might enjoy, at least for the pics! Where do you find yours???

Thanks for the response. It's always nice to meet new "eggheads" out there. The Egg Planes I buy from all sources. I buy on Ebay, Yahoo, and from flea markets and Internet contacts. Oh yeah, I also get them through postings like this. Thank you for the web site on the Egg Planes. I had found it a few weeks ago and I have this thing right now about the French and chose not to keep it in my computer. Here's another you may enjoy. http://treswright.vervehosting.com/
It has some of my Egg Planes and some built by others others along with other interesting kits like Zoids and Deal's Wheels. Most of this site is dedicated to caricature models and is interesting to read and look at built ups.

Howdy, Keith. Welcome to FSM. Nice to have another egghead on board. I have about a dozen of the little rascals in my collection . They sure are a lot of fun :) - Ed

Hey Keith, and welcome. I agree that this is a GREAT forum. I have received a lot of great advice about many modeling subjects from the friendly members of this forum. I haven't built any Egg planes, but your post reminded me of when I was a teenager decades ago (ok, the sixties) and I kit bashed a car using an egg from my sisters L'Eggs pantyhose shell as the car body. Looked really cool with mag wheels and all. Do L'Eggs still come that way? Meredith, where are you when we need these kinds of answers? Anyway, just thought I'd give that little tip for when you want to scratch build your own EggPlane/Car. Later, Stinger

Wel thanks for the 60's reminder. They don't make the Egg container anymore. Shucks. I try to watch for Easter eggs around that time of year but most of them are the semi-rigid plastic and not good for scratching an egg plane.I have been reading FSM for years. I lokk forward to every copy and usually read it from cover to cover the same day received. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come every day! :o)

I also look forward to my issue of FSM and wish it would come more often, but really that is what is so great about this Forum. IT IS here everyday, and I must say, it's members are some of the kindest, most fun, and most informative people I have ever encountered! The diversity of personalities, professions, age groups, and the respect shared between all the members (and especially to the female modelers: YOU GO GIRLS!) is so very unique. I think of it as a great big party, where you can go from room to room and sit in on whatever topic is being discussed therein. Thanks also to FSM for providing such an awesome and easy to use website. The search feature in this forum has been invaluable to me. Whoever built this site, THANK YOU!!! I know that this should probably be posted elsewhere, but I'm sure someone there will read it.
On the subject of L'Eggs: Too bad. I always wanted to build another car. (I have little enough time to build my aircraft these days).
Once again, welcome Keith, and make sure to browse around. Later, Stinger
