Hi! Trek modeler here!

Hi!  My name is Shawn.  I'm from upstate NY and now live in Las Vegas.  I'm married with a baby due in October and I'm a huge Star Trek fan.

I've been building Trek models for 8 years now.  I'm a freak when it comes to detail.  I'm glad to share techniques and I'm always looking for new techniques.  I've been known to completely build a model over 3 months and then strip it down and rebuild it again (AMT and Monogram are getting sick of my replacemnt part/decal requests).

In all honesty I took almost a four year hiatus from building anything and I have recently gotten back into my favorite hobby.  I just finished the Polar Lights Original series Enterprise and I made a lot of rookie mistakes (i.e, using Tenax 7-R on the saucer section before I made sure that I had installed all of the clear parts on the inside, using acrylic dried paint solvent on clear parts, and of course, the biggest mistake, not premixing enough of the overall cover and tyring to cheat by overthinning it.) , but all in all I am pleased with it.

Over the past two years I have purchased all of the Enterprises ever and I'm working on them one by one (who was the dope that decided to engrave the surface of the Enterprise A anyway?). In my career I have finished the Enterprise B, D, and E, but they are all getting a major overhaul. Unlike most people, I like Aztecing, but I'm going to start using after market Aztec decals on some of my ships.  I'll need plenty of advice.

Anywho, that's it.
