Hi,
My name is Mika.
I have been modelling for about 20 years as a hobby. From model rail-ways, to a ceiling full of hanging airplane models, cars(rally), scince fiction, helicopters(my fav. Huey gunships) and racing motorbikes.
I'm from Australia, living now in Germany.
I was a mechanic and technician in MotoGP since 1992. With Tamiya making such good models, it has been very easy to build a wide variety and large numbers of bikes. I was making models on the road. Many a glue drop and knife mark in hotel rooms around the world. (Don't forget to check your modelling tool kit in with you baggage, as most of it will be confiscated at security check!)
I have turned my hobby into my profession, but I don't concentrate only on MGP. My company, ffactor models is into making buildings, dioramas and even some industrial models(no pictures or info availble). Mainly for the Europen market.
Our website, www.ffactor.de, high-lights some of our work. It's difficult sometimes to say what is work and what is hobby, as it is almost all fun. Except deadlines.
The only thing I miss now is most of the models are for customers, so I don't get to put many on the shelf. But the pictures and memories are enough.
At the end of 2005, the Yamaha race team of Rossi and Edwards ordered 37, 1:12 scale M1's. More details of this project can be seen on our website.
I hope to hear from like minded modellers.
Ciao
Mika
