Hello from the Frozen North

I would have said Tundra, but then you would have thought Green Bay.... But instead I am from Minnesota.

I have been building models since I was 6 years old and have a variety of interests. My two primary ones are aircraft and sci-fi, but I also do wooden sailing ships, armor, modern war ships and N scale railroading.

I am an avid golfer and love to ride my motorcycle. I have some of my older work on line at:

I also have a Work in Progess folder called:

Enjoy! And thanks for another great resource!

Welcome aboard!!

I wandered onto your site and looked through your photo album. I must say that I'm very impressed!! Wow!! The models in your photo album look really great!! I really like your USS Arizona and the Independence 1775. There's just something about wooden ships. Someday (maybe a couple of decades from now) I would love to attempt one, but looking at all the rigging and the sails - it's really intimidating.

(If anyone has missed it - take a look at rossjr's model photo album.)

Thanks for the kind words!!!

Wooden ships are not as difficult as you might think, start simple and go from there. I actually prefer them to plastic ships because I would always bend or warp the masts and yardarms when I did the rigging. My current project is a ship called the Scottish Maid. I have been trying to document the construction process in the hopes of writing an artcle for FSM. If you are interested in seeing the pictures they are on-line at:

Enjoy!!
