Hello from Tucson

Cool [8D] I'm Chuck and I've returned to the hobby after about a 15 year layoff. I work mainly in 1/72 aircraft, but also built NASCAR Cup Cars, Rally Cars, F-1 and CART cars. I grew up In Milwaukee so I've watched some of the great ones race. I'm just starting to experiment with airbrushing and doing the fine detailing that I find so increadable in the photos in FS. I have about a dozen 1/12 scale F-1 kits that I'm working up the skills (and nerve!) to build. I'm happy to have found this site and look forward to hearing from others and reading tips and ideas.
Cheers,
Chuck

Thanks for all the kind hellos. I've built one treadmobile and it rests in a rolling museum of African American History. It's a well weathered Sherman, in France-761st- and I covered the thing with snow and put a Srgt with a Thompson on top checking out a topo map (from my old flying days). I was pleased but gained a great deal of respect for tankers and treadbuilders! It took nearly three weeks to get right and make it fit as part of a diorama. Now I'm looking for to beef up the prop stuff. All the plumbing on F-1 cars is still a bit beyond me yet. And I have a great primary source just down the road- the bone yard at Davis Monthan AFB. They have one of EVERYTHING sitting there!

Thanks again
