Greetings from TN:
I'm Gary, retired Aero Eng., and old enough to be on medicare. I have always been involved with some sort of aircraft modeling but have been most intrigued with the imagination and realism of the plastic scale aircraft hobby. I am a long ime subscriber of FSM and now I have time to experiment. My interests are 1/72 scale WWII aircraft and my desire to improve is restricted by mylack of artistic ability. My other passion is "chasing" airshows and haunting air museums.

Welcome to FSM, Gary. Hope you'll enjoy your site searches here. Where in Tennessee are you from? I have family in Jeffereson City and Knoxville, and my wife is from Memphis.

Thanks one and all for the warm welcome. Ed, in answer to your question - I live in Tullahoma, TN, it's about equal distance between Nashville, Chattanooga and Huntsville, AL. There are several active clubs within driving distance and I always enjoy attending their competitions. You can't help but walk away asking "I wonder how they did that!?"

Hello and welcome,
Glad you stopped by and joined up. I think you will find that after some experimenting, practice, with support from the fine folks here, that you are not as "artistically challenged" as you think. Loking forward to your posts and pics of your builds.

Gary,
Welcome to the forum! According to a active poll taken here I am "up there" with you in the age brakett for the members in this forum. I joined the forum in March and through the knowledge of these fine folks here have improved my modeling tremendously in a short time. I do find that eveytime I sign online I stop here and spend a bit of time getting and giving advice. I am sure you'll love that. They are all wonderful and interesting people.

Thanks for asking. For alittle levity, I received my BSAE in aeronautical engineering the same year that the 7 Mercury astronauts were selected .

Have a nice evening.
