Hello From Hangtown
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 12:44 AM
Hi all,

I am new to this forum, yet not new to the hobby of model building.

I have been building models since about age 5 when my dad got me an old AMT model of a Chevrolet. I can't remeber what specific model it was. It had many options and was a real challenge for me then. That was 1967.

Today, I have more old instruction sheets from models than I care to count and a supply of un-built models that I could only dream of when I was in High School.

It has been lots of fun building and showing models. The IPMS shows have been a real kick! What a pleasure to see the work that others have done. It has been fun to win the contests too!

I was wondering, has anyone built a DH Mosquito (1/48) in the PR Mk 21 format? Did I get the mark correct? This was the recon version that I found a really nice picture of in Jeffery Ethel's WWI Color Photograph book. The Mossy is a US version of the aircraft. Specifically, I am looking for ways to convert the Tamiya kit which will require changes to the canopy and to the engine nacelles. The exhaust stacks are also different.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hello there Mark,

It seems you've been around modeling for quite sometime. Hope to read more posts from you from now on. Maybe you can share some of your experiences to us also.
