I'd like to say welcome, i've just got the buzz back for modelling, been away myself for some years!!.

i think as long as you keep them sealed tight and no air can get at the paint they last along time, i've got loads of old airfix and humbrol tins that most be more than 15years old, i check them yes2day there fine just needed stirring. anyway good luck!!

`if i should die, think only this of me/that there's some corner of a foreign field/that is for ever england.

First off. Welcome!!  Most of us leave the hobby and come back. Now for the questions.

Hobby paint has a long life.  I'm using the stuff out of a set from when I was 7.  16 years old and still good.

The decals are simply yellowing.  When you get ready to use them tape the sheet to a sunny window 'til the sun bleaches them out.  They'll start yellowing again if you wait to use them.

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on the forum. I am finally attempting to get back into modeling after about 4 or 5 years (I think). I used to build them when I was a younger child, in late elementary and middle school. I am now a sophomore in college, and decided that picking up a hobby like this is probably good for me. While I am no longer gung ho about becoming a military aviator, I am still in love with the airplanes that I once wanted to fly. I have several questions that I wanted to ask and I am not sure if this is the correct place to do so, but I'll try anyway. I have paints that I was going through earlier this evening that still have liquid in them, would they be ok to use or do I need to acquire all new paints? I also have a ton of models that I bought when I was younger with the intention of building. Unfortunately I used to start a lot of them and never finish because I would begin my next project, silly me. I wanted to know though, will the decals be ok? Some of the sheets looked like they were browning a bit. I believe those are all of the questions that I have for now. Hopefully I get back into this hobby, I used to love it as a child. I think now that I am more mature I will hopefully be able to take more time on my planes and make them as beautiful as I originally intended. I plan to jump back in with a Revell kit I had bought on ebay back then which is a B-1B bomber. Hopefully this turns out alright, I do remember it being an expensive kit. The thing is huge at 1/48th scale. Ok, enough rambling, I am going to go set up a workspace.
