By the way, my husband has been into modeling for a long time and I know that he gets lots of things online, especially on ebay.

Many thanks. Found one about 34 miles away so will give that a try.

Thanks again.

Welcome to the Forums Chris Sign - Welcome [#welcome].  Look to see what Hobby Shops are in your area.  If you find some, visit & see what's available.  Usually you'll run into other modelers or the store staff that can give you good advice first hand.

Any advice for a newbie
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, January 7, 2007 12:14 PM

Hi there folks

Just started getting into modelling and wondered if anyone had any advice on where to buy models etc, toolkits, and what perhaps is a good starting line up if your just getting into the hobby for the same.  Only have a couple of models ready to start but really no clue as to what I need tools wise and perhaps even where to buy future models etc online.

Any thoughts and suggestions as to what could be a good starting point.

I am basically looking to build aircraft, ships (galleon's) and perhaps armor.  A bit about me. 41 year old male, married with 2 children, a BRIT and living (2 years now) in Charlotte, NC. Other hobbies including the dreaded online gaming (World of Warcraft) but looking for something different. Modelling has always appealed to me so thought I would try that.

Thanks

Chris
