I'm playing 6 degrees of Star Trek on messenger with a friend so I'm distracted.  The sudoku and reading assignments aren't helping.

Welcome.  I too have a lot of "long-term projects" and I have one I'm doing for this year.  Got feel bad about speed or quantity.  Fun is the important thing.

Welcome to the forum.  Captain [4:-)] In my opinion taking your time can be a good thing because it makes the completion of the model that much more satisfying. My 2 cents [2c] It also allows you to escape if and when you need to from those around you. Whistling [:-^] Not that anyone would do that in the first place. And as for all the unbuilt models well at least you have choices for a rainy day. Black Eye [B)]  Again welcome and we look forward to seeing your work.

Welcome to the Forums Sign - Welcome [#welcome].  Everyone builds at their own pace.  The race doesn't always go to the swift.  Of course most of us don't build in slow motion....Whistling [:-^].

I'm returning to the hobby after many years layoff - I'm going to say about 30.  I'm a WWII armor and figures modeler and won some County Fair type prizes back in my teens.  I've been a subscriber to FSM for many years and I am so impressed with the super-detailing y'all do now.  I'm not sure I'll ever have the skills to create the kind of models I see in those pages, but just the same, I always got a unique satisfaction out of completing a kit and receiving compliments on them.

My dilemma is this - I'm really slow.  I used to be quite fast, and I don't quite understand the psychology that is keeping me from completing a project.  I've got a diorama I've been working on for probably about 5 years (70% completed), a figure of an American Marine on Iwo that I've cobbled together from various pieces and two-part putty - he's not got any arms yet and his head is detached - started on him two or three years ago, and a Sherman that is quite the infant at about 7 months into construction (50%).   That's just the "active" projects.  There are quite a few purchased but unstarted and even more imagined but unpurchased.

Can anyone relate? Any words of encouragement, cosolation, or empathy?
