Welcome to the forums, and may I add that you picked a great time to return to the hobby.

I should also mention that I plan to stick with what I enjoyed as a youth:  WWII combat vehicles (land, sea, air) and tall sailing ships - all in plastic.

I just helped my 6 year-old snap together and brush paint a small, simple F4U Corsair and that's all it took to plant the modeling bug.  I haven't built a scale model since about ther 8th grade, but I loved it then and I am sure i will enjoy it even more as an adult, especially with a very curious and quite precocious little boy in tow.  If I can ease him into the hobby, perhaps he will be set up for a lifetime of enjoyment and learning.

Anyway, when I came across these forums I was amazed.  This is an astonishing resouce that modellers could not have even dreamed of back in my youth.  All you folks out there are what make this thing happen, and I am very happy to have signed on with you.  I'll be hitting you guys up for advice here and there, and when you start seeing me giving advice to other people, you'll know I'm almost ready to post some photos of my own work.

Until then . . .

Regards,

Tip-z
