Welcome to the wonderful world of plastic modeling.  Best of luck in your pursuit of the fire truck and any other models that you choose to build.  Matt Swan has an excellent web site called, www.swannysmodels.com that has all kinds of excellent articles on building and finishing models.  I highly recommend it.  The "Tools and Tips" section of this forum also has some excellent information.  If you have any specific questions, just ask and someone will have the answer for you.

Welcome, Mike.  We do our best with questions, but I'm not a Car/Truck fan.  There are guys though who are really into the emergency vehicles.  Try the auto forum.  They will probably come out of the woodwork with tips and advice.

  Hi

My name is Mike Grzybowski and I have been modelling for about 14 months now. I try to make my models look like the real thing, but I have a lot of learning to do. So here I am on the Forum

to take advantage of it so I can learn how to build these models right from the advice I get from everyone here, and maybe make some new Friends. I'm 43 year old disabled construction worker so I have plenty of time to work on the models now all I need is to learn how to build them correctly. You name it and I most likely have it for building, weathering, and painting, I just need to learn how to use and apply these things for a real looking job. So far  my models have turned out pretty good but I really want to have them look like the ones in the magazine. Well I have to run and take my Great Pyrenees puppy to the Vet for his shots and a check-up so I have to sign off right now. Before I go though, my new project I am starting today is   Trumpeters 1:25 American LaFrance Eagle Fire pumper. If I could get some tips on the proper way to start and build this cause all I now is my way how to build and I don't know if I'm doing things right or not. The Pros look so real and that is what I am striving for on this and from now on. Nice to meet eveyone and I look forward to your advice and tips on my road to being a Real  Model Builder.

                                                            Thanks
