Painting my f4 phantom
Posted by aj2wins on Friday, February 9, 2007 6:13 PM

I am not sure on how to start painting the phantom with the different color scheme

of tan, dark green, light green. Do I start with the light colors and then progress to the darker

colors? How is the best way to get the pattern that you want on the aircraft, from one color

to the next color? You cant tape the parts off  because of irregular patterns on the plane.

How is the best way to start this project so not to mess up the plane, besides testing on another plane.

First of all, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum.  For this specific question, why not post it on aircraft section or painting forum?  You'll probably get a better answer from that area of the forum than here.

Hello - just joined myself and thought I'd say Howdy!

Ahhh another F-4 fan, can't have enough!  Welcome to the forum. Usually the rule of thumb for painting multiple colors would be to go light to dark colors. I would use a pencil and draw out the camo pattern on the aircraft than either use a masking tape, liquid mask or do it free hand. Just a matter of choice.
