HI, I just joined also.  I was in the Navy in 1968 thru 70 and served on a DD from WWII and on a converted guided missle cruiser with 5 and 6 inch turrents which was commissioned in '44.  I too have an appreciation for the old Navy ships and fighters.  Welcome to the site.  Greg

Welcome!!  I like ambition!  That would make for a cool scene.  I'd like to do a forced perspective of D-Day.

Hi & Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the FSM forums! (I'm brand-new, too!)

Hi fellas,

Just signed on yesterday.  Despite my moniker for this forum, I'm interested in all aviation of the early Cold War, especially less popular subjects.  (i.e. do we really need the F-4 in yet another paint scheme, when we don't have nearly enough A-3s or  F-94s?)

I also am interested in WW2 ship dioramas.  Have always wanted to replicate the famous "Murderer's Row" photo of 5 Essex class carriers, and throw in a couple destroyers, a Liberty ship, and a battleship for good measure.

But I'm stargazing here.  I'm still very new, after a couple decades away doing things like college, grad school, being married, and landing a job.
