Back in the fold

I cant even say I've lurked unless 2 days counts. I got interested again because now I have a son who is old enough to start thinking models are cool. I got to thinking, this would be a different experience now, and wondering if I could do as good as I envision things "should" be. I remembered this magazine as a kid and voila - it's still here!

So, am I good at it? Ha. Well, not yet. Certainly better than at age 8, but. My first attempt is an F4U which has suffered from some manufacturing and alignment ailments but been a great first place to figure out what I know and what I don't. I do think that all my painting experience (as a remodeler) has, well, almost no practical application here whatsoever, other than maybe color theory.

I suspect I wont post many answers yet. Just glad to see this community is here and hopefully as beneficial as some of the other forums I'm involved with.
