Hi Chet.Smile [:)]

Welcome to the hobby and to the forums.Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

We're in the same boat, sort of. Converted one of the spare bedrooms into my "Hobby Room". If you have any pets around the house, or small kids, I would suggest a trick I did. Had an old screen door left over from a prior porch rebuild. Fixed it up, new screening, and repainted, then installed it on the hobby room. My cats and beagle can't get in, I can leave the regular door open for ventilation and can hear all that goes on in the house.

Have fun. Look around the forums. All kinds of great guys giving great info. Post lots of pics of your builds.

One caution a friend told me about: Don't try to build your own paint booth. Unless the engine is screened, the electrical sparks an electric motor produces can touch off volatile vapors. I have almost completely stopped using solvent-based paints, which eliminates a host of problems. Will probably buy a paint booth eventually, however. Acrylics just can't fill every need.
