new to the forum
Posted by crazygerman on Saturday, April 7, 2007 2:11 PM

Hi, i joined the forum a few days ago, i'm a long time reader of FSM, i'm returning to modeling after a two year "break". I used to model 1/72 scale aircraft, but i never seemed to find time to work on my projects, but a few days ago i stopped in at my local hobby shop to buy a gift for a friend and i picked up a few kits for myself too, I'm glad i returned to the hobby and i'm finding I'm more drawn to 1/35 scale armour these days. My new project is a Hanomag Sdkfz 251/8 german ambulance, i may post some picks after i finish scratchbuilding the interior.

Welcome aboard!  Sign - Welcome [#welcome] There's a new scratchbuilding forum on these boards. It would be cool to see what techniques you use.

Thanks, i'll have to check that out, lol, after such a long time i've found that my technique is kinda rusty, but after a few days of working on this project i'm getting the hang of things again

Welcome back to the hobby!! Don't forget a fire extinguisher.  Most vehicles had some kind. The easiest way to make one involves plastic rod cut and rounded with sandpaper.  The bits on the end can be added from wire and whatnot.  There are pics around the net of the real.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forums, and sorry to hear about the thumb.  I hope it heals up quickly so you can get back to modelling!
