Hi From The UK
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, April 19, 2007 12:14 PM

Hi All,

I'm Steve from the UK. Thought I'd say hello to everyone.

I have recently re-taken up this hobby that I so loved as a kid.

I have built up a small collection of (as yet unmade) kits and have just about got most of the tools I require, all I need is a little more time and a jump start to get over the fear of ‘getting it wrong'.

Strangely I never had that fear as a kid?

I had a great little collection of kits that I made in the 70's and 80's as a kid, but I met up with rather destructive mate (Gareth) who managed to smash and burn every one over a period of time in his 'fun antics', so I'm trying to re-live my youth, greatly to my wives disgust.

My main interest is in modern fighter aircraft, some WW2 and civil airliners.

I have bought and read numerous books and of course FSM, but just need to get started on something simple, so have bought a few basic kits for this reason.

I hope to have a different story about the collection soon.....time permitting ha ha ha!!!

BTW can anyone help with the following:-

A build instruction sheet for a Hasegawa 1/72 Scale S-3A Viking (kit No. JS-142:900).

A good way to contact Revell (Germany) as they appear to ignore e-mails and their web site ‘request page' results in a no show, as I have a 1:32 EC-135 that I have bought 2nd hand and needs a few spare parts as it has been very badly started.

Regards

Steve>>>

Steve,

Welcome to the Forums and welcome back to the hobby! The best way I've found to get over the fear of getting it wrong is to build it and realize it might not be perfect this time but the next one will be better.

Happy landings,

Aaron Skinner
