I need to commission someone to detail a model for me
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 20, 2007 7:56 AM

I am about to purchase a miniature model of a hydroplane, with dimensions about twice that of a typical model car. I want someone to paint it for me to look like the boat I root for. The completely assembled, motor driven replica and color photographs of the real boat will be supplied. Please feel free to contact me and name your price. Thanks for the consideration.

 My My 2 cents [2c]

Simply as a suggestion, I do not know how your response level has been so far, but I would recommend you posting either a picture or a link to a color picture of the subject you are requesting us to consider. Also, the actual dimensions of the model in question would be helpful as well, as model cars do come in various scales like anything else.

You see, each modeller has his/her strong and weak points, and knowing how much additional materials we will have to purchase vs. how much we can draw from our personal stock as well as the actual colors and markings involved can make a big difference to some of us.

OK?

I concur with T_Terrific. Additionally, you mention that the model is motor driven. Is this an R/C boat? If the model is to be used in the water this would dictate a paint type. The material itself, (wood , fiberglass, plastic) will also impact paint type.
