New and Hello

Hey gang,

I'm new to the forums, old to modeling, and stuck in the all too common rut:  "Man when I get some free time, I'm going to build (insert your latest passion here)..."

So like some of you, I've got a stack of unbuilt plastic that my wife would love to give away to the first taker.  I've also got a couple of kits in various stages, principally a function of trying to get my 3 daughters hooked on this fun hobby.    Right now I'm at an impasse, because having moved 6 years ago, my airbrush is buried somewhere, and I haven't been able to put my hands on it.

I'm mostly an aircraft guy.  Last summer I knocked out a nasty kit (Esci??)that I picked up at a hobby shop on the road for $ 5 or 6 bucks-  F-104 C in SEA colors for my 5 year old nephew, hand painted.  He thought it was great, and within 2 hours the fixed refueling boom and nose pitot were history.  Oh well, he still loves it, and I'm his favorite uncle!  But it was a kit that I didn't have to sweat the "what aftermarket details do I want to add" so I just built it.

In the same vein, I've got a Hasegawa Aggressor F-16 that I want to build OOB (well maybe some Two Bobs decals..).  I've finished the cockpit and am ready to start serious assembly, but I sure would like to spray my engine intake with flat white... I've got a couple of other projects in the works, either underway, or in the serious planning stages.

That's a short intro.  Good Modeling!

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]  Hi, howdy, greetings and welcome to the best modeling resource I've ever found. You're going to like it here so make sure you put on a fresh pot before you log on! Great people in here who are ALWAYS eager to help so don't be shy if you have any problems or questions. Browse through the posts from time to time too, maybe someone is having a problem or has that question that you can help with. Well, time to fire up the compressor and get some camo on this 1/35 Tamiya Panther G(late) that's waiting in the spray booth. Oh yeah!--Hope you find your 'brush soon.

Regards

Dennis

Thanks for the warm welcome.  I can see that there is quite a bit of assembled knowledge here, and I'll try to pull my weight.

I didn't mention that my latest long term building project(s) are 1:1 scale house additions.  So, that's one of the most justifiable reasons for minimal plastic.  There is always a piece of drywall to put up or a circuit to wire.
