Hey craaber. Welcome. I'm new here, too. Just got back into it after a 25+ year hiatus.

This place is a really cool site and the other folks have been most helpful and encouraging.

I think I was 16 or 17 the last time I built a model. I decided to come back after prowling these forums for a few months and getting the itch.

Luckily for me - I have been involved in RC aircraft for a long time - and I have alot of the tools I nee to get back into it - including an airbrush.

So, I picked up a 1:48 Revell P-51 kit to see if I was up to it. I did not want to spend alot on a good kit just to find out I could not, or did not really want to get back involved. So far it has been fun. The kit was $12, and I spent about $50 on some paints, liquid cement, putty and a few other items. If I decide I'm not up to it - I can certainly use these items on my much larger and less detailed RC planes.

Anyway - I am starting a build thread on the cheapie Mustang over in Aircraft. Check it out if you want.
