Yeah you guessed it...another newbie

He everybody I am a 22 year old wanna be freight pilot...slowly working on those pilot ratings. I have great admiration for airplanes other then flying them. I'm currently working on a P-38 then a Texan then a B-26. So far the P-38 looks like a plane but I have found more enjoyment then frustration building it  reguardless how it looks. I'm also looking for any recommendations for another kit to work on and am in the market for an aibrush and compressor...any recommendations there would help.Big Smile [:D]

First off, let me welcome you to the forums, and also say that I find your approach to modeling very refreshing.

Recommending specific kits is difficult, probably because of the almost infinite number of choices, but my favorite manufacturers for aircraft kits are Hasegawa, Tamiya, Eduard, Academy, DML, and Trumpeter (not necessarily in that order).

For your first airbrush, I would suggest you get one that is simple to use (a single-action) from a reputable manufacturer (Iwata, Badger, Paasche). You will get many years use out of it, and even if you decide to upgrade in the future, it can still be an integral part of your painting arsenal. For a compressor, find one you can afford, but again from an established company. They can be a big investment, so you don't want to go throwing your hard-earned money away on something that's going to crap out on you a few months down the road.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] and Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum Big Smile [:D]  I would also recommend Revell and Monogram as kits to hone your skills on, low $$$.

ItWillFly85,

Welcome to the Forums!
I can't think of much to add to what's already been said. A lot of this comes down to personal preference, finding an airbrush you like, etc. Badger, Paasche and Iwata all make good brushes.
