Hello
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 5, 2003 7:14 PM
Hi , first post here but i've been reading you guys for a few weeks, i'm very new to modeling (been doing it for a month and a half) , well i did a few planes when i was a kid but it wasnt very serious back then. currently i'm finishing up my first model (tamiya hanomag sdkfz 251/1) and just starting starting my 2nd (T34/85). i learned quite a bit from you guys and from the 251/1 , among other things that camo is imposible to paint with a normal brush (that 251/1 has so much paint on it in some spots that the detail is gone) so i ended up getting a badger 150 airbrush last week and i'm loving it , it does a much nicer job. i got a panther G (my favorite peice of ww2 equipemnt Big Smile [:D]) in the closet that i'll start working on when i get close to finishing the T34 , i wanted to get some practice on something else before working on the panther

how i got into modeling you ask? well last year i started playing a computer game called combat mission: barbarossa to berlin, and its a prety accurate game so i started to read lots and lots of ww2 books and websites to improve my game skills, so after lots of playing with the kitties in game and reading on them i tought it would be prety cool to actualy build one so here i am Smile [:)]

i'm 26 from edmonton alberta canada and my main interests are ww2 eastern front armor but its very likely that i'll start looking into the african and italian campaign fairly soon because of a new game (combat mission: afrika korps) being released very shortly. looking forward to chatting and exchangeing tips with you guys.

welcome aboard!!! ... although not my main reson for getting into the hobby, I too find at times playing computer games that then lead me into building something associated with that game - sort of like stoking the fires.

Welcome to the forums, PantherLehr.

Make sure to post some pictures of the Panther G when you get it complete.

PS....I have Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord Evil [}:)] Don't have too much time to play though. Hard to try and find free time the way it is.
