Back to modeling
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 13, 2003 11:56 PM
Hello folks, I have been read the issues of fine scale foe a few months and I believe this site will help in my return to an old hobby. I do have a question on a scale from 1-10 how are the Italeri kits. I'm a WWII history buff and love German era Armor and want to design diaramas. Italeri seem to have good prices online. Feel free to write stgmnky911@msn.com. Thanks ....

If you want dead on accuracy I've been told the Italeri kits are a bit off the mark but it didn't stop me from buying 6 of their kits in the last year. I have about 15 of their kits altogether and they seem to be a good value for the price.

First off...Welcome back to the hobby Stgmnky.
Italeri isn't always noted for the greatest of accuracy but they do produce reasonably priced, very workable, and generally good representations of the kits they depict. I like them and have built many of their armour kits. Remember that even Tamiya has produced a few stinkers along the way. The best thing to do if you want accuracy is to ask on the forums about the kits or check out the many online reviews before buying.

Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert
