Availability of 1:48 & 1:72 scale models
Posted by WNGSHSVOL6 on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 9:14 PM
I am involved with the Washington National Guard State Historical Society Museum which is trying to tell the story of the Washington Militia/National Guard since in the early 1860's.  OK, what's that got to do with models.....  We are trying to model the aircraft that the Air Guard has had within their inventory since the 1920's.  I have a list of the aircraft flown by the Wash. Air Guard.  What I need to know is who is making plastic models of those aircradt in 1:48 or 1:72 scale????  If you could help I can provide the list.  It is over twenty aircraft!!  Tanks.....

Send me the list and I'll see what I can do for you.

Just click on the email icon at the bottom of the post and go from there.

My club was commissioned to do the same for a MANG museum a few years ago. It's pretty likely that most of the AC you want are availble. We did ours in 1/48. Your builders will need photo references and be able to make modifications. Your biggest challenge will be unit specific markings. We had to make custom decals from scanned artwork for some.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

In the scale modelling world, those have got the be the most common scales there are. Ya gotta be careful in a hobby shop or you'll trip on em all over the place. If there was only someone to go pick them up........Whistling [:-^]

Warmest regards,

Roger

First of all, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum.

You are in the right place to get all the info you need.  Have you looked at squardron?  It maybe worth for you to get on their mailing list and get their catalog.

Welcome to the Forums Sign - Welcome [#welcome].  Sounds like an ambitious project. Several years ago, we did a similar project for the Michigan ANG stationed at Selfridge AFB.  If you send the list, I'd be happy to help out with your quest.

Regards,  Rick
