Not a very good modeler

Hi Scott, What models do you prefer to build and what scale? These forums are great for learning. Try asking some specific qestions.

Hi,Scott.we allhad to start somewhere.I have been building for about12 years now and have about 2 kits i am truly satisfied with.rarly I have gotten a kit to turn out the way I intended it to when i first started building it.Hang in there.Be patiant,Be confident.Remember your the one building the kit the way you want it to look .not the way others think it "should" look....have fun...........

I have never met anyone who was always satisfied with their efforts. Part of the wonderfulness of modeling is that you are your own critic, and you can keep improving. Don't stress yourself, too many people leave the hobby because it's not fun for them. Have fun, and learn from each model. Imperfections are part of life, and many of the guys and gals in the Gallery have a hundred models they don't show or never finished.

Never get discouraged, as scale modelers we are never satisfied. I too have a closet of unfinished kits. Most of the kits I have finished are , to me lousy but when I show them to friends they think they're great. Remember it's a slow go and experience is our best teacher. I have found that spending alot of time referencing topics and asking specific questions in forums such as FSM I seem to make less & less mistakes ( but I still make my share ). It take time to get to perfection. IMPS winners are not born overnight.

Happy new year from the UK! I think it's safe to say that we've all been where you are now-don't be so hard on yourself . He who has never made mistakes has never accomplished anything.
By the way , I'm not a very good modeller either-and there are lot's more like us. So remember you are not alone out there!

mess up and call it battle damage. thats what i do. blame badpainting on how the engineers did it. engineers dont pain. they fix things. its a golden excuse.

No need to worry snoopy, we're all like that I'veen modeling for practically 12 years and I still think I need to improve in my building. It's how we all are as modellers. Don't get discouraged, finish the one you're working on, and move on to the next model you want to build. You'll keep progressively improving everytime, because you learn from the last model.

Hi Scott, i feel just like you. That my work isn't good enough either. Then I took another look at the 1/350 Minicraft Titanic I'm doing for my wife (after a 10 month break) and realized it looks pretty good after all. By the way I'm been working on it for 4 years now and is just one of 3 kits in progress. One from all my interest. 1) 1/350 ships (pref Naval), 2) 1/48 or larger aircraft (late 30's to mid 70's), 3) 1/24 autos (pref nascar). By the way am I the only one who thinks that "low viz" camo is boring to model???
