Actually, that's me at NTC in Ft. Irwin. I was a forward observer then and paused a moment with a photo opportunity. But i've been a helicopter crew chief for most of my enlistment. I just really like that picture. But i was kicking over a few pictures of me when i was in the middle east that might also look good for an avatar...

Warmest regards,

Roger

This site is so very cool and the members so sincere I feel I should do as the site suggests and introduce myself.

 I'm David.....53....in CT....US Navy Veteran.

I began building in the mid-80's (mainly in winter months, duh!) and found tons of joy and that I was pretty good at it. FSM was a great help, though I had been familiar with SM as a kid.

After a few years I had to draw away from the hobby for well, you know, stuff happens. I gave away all my in-work and unopened stuff......so now I'm starting over. Thank God for the net.

My main area of interest is aircraft 1930-1945.....but I love ships also, being a Navy Vet. 1/48  is my favorite scale.

I have built a few fantasy models, most notably a float version of a Brewster Buffalo.....and a 'Star Wars/Captain Nemo'  (best description I can give) of a starship where I melded an S-3 Viking and the USS Arizona and alot of balsa.....I can't describe it but I will post photos soon.

Thanks for looking in.....hoping to talk w/ you
