Hi All!

I am new to this forum. I just got back into modelling in the last month or so, last time I did it I was about 14. (27 now)
I went and bought all the necessary start up supplies, paints, glues, beer, etc. And an Aztec airbrush.
After going thru 4 cans of propellant, at 11 bucks a pop, I needed a better solution.

So, where did I come? The internet! And it led me here. So I spent a couple hours yesterday reading all the suggestions about a compressor.
The airbrush only compressors here start at 150.00 and an 'ok' badger one would run me close to 300.00. So, like I said, after reading the threads here, I went and got a 1/3 HP 2 gallon normal household compressor, tried er out last ngiht, and it works great! So, thanks!

I build cars mainly, NASCAR model, and the like. Working on a 57 Chevy Cameo now. This has become my main hobby. I built up my personal car as a show car for the past summer. but just sold all the mods on it, now its back to a daily driver. I also am involved with stock cars in the summer, so I build on a 1:1 scale then. :)

take care!
Jim

Welcome to FSM Jim.

Make sure you get yourself a moisture trap for that compressor, if you didn't get one already, it'll save you a lot of grief in the long run.

Enjoy the forums !!!
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Welcome Jim. I have to use two mosture traps here in Arizona. I use a swamp cooler in the shop in the summer time. Very hot and dry in Arizona. A swamp cooler lowers the temps. when it's very dry. ( 5-10% humidity ). All of your questions will be answered here at this forum.

Jim,
Welcome and don't forget to pitch in and have your say - that's what this forum is all about. And don't forget to post a picture or two of your models. Most people are afraid to - they think they're not good enough. But I've almost always found that what I don't like in my own work, others think is fantastic. That's because we're our own harshest critic.
Seeing other people's work is always a good thing - never too old to learn something new............
Cheers

Welcome Jim;
As you can see this is a good place to obtain information on that great passtime called moldelling.

Wink [;)]You said that you purchased an Aztec brush, well I would like to welcome you to an endangered species of happy Aztec users, there seems to very few of us in this Community.Wink [;)]
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

haha, yeah, so I have read. So far the Aztec is working good for me. Except the paint jar/dip tube is not. But I use color cups anyhow. I will post some pics when I can get my hands on a digicam, and I finish my 66 Olds 442 W30.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! And I will be sure to participate in discussions!
