Hey,

Glad to meet all of you folks out there. I hope this setup continues for quite some time as I believe we've needed a place like this for a while. I know there are other newsgroups out there but I think this one is going to be great.
Cool [8D] First off let me introduce myself, My name is Tracy Weber,
I live in Kentucky, and I've been modelling for 38 years. Jeez that's a while[:0].
My first model kit was a Monogram F6F Hellcat, stuck together with Testor's tube glue in one afternoon and I was hooked. I haven't been very far away from modelling since then. My wife is quite tolerant of my plastic addiction and sometimes has been known to set me up with a fix.Wink [;)]
I build just about anything, well let me restate that last phrase, I buy just about any type of kit but I build mostly Aircraft and Tanks.
I do have cars, ships, vinyl and resin figures scifi and a few gundam kits also, oh and a Funimation Super Saiyan Vegeta too so I guess I'm well and truly into plastic.
I guess my skill level would be variable dependant upon what genre I'm working in but overall I guess I'd say I'm a fair builderSmile [:)]

Sorry for the long post but back when I was a youngin' it was near impossible to find folks who were really into modelling now i guess this could be the beginning of a modelling resurgance I hope so things are looking pretty grim it seems for the folks just starting out.

Thanks for putting up with my rattling on.

Welcome to the forum Tracy
38 years of experience.....sounds like you may have a bit of knowledge to share but then again if you are like me (I also have been modeling off and on for about the same amount of time) there's still lots to learn. Must say that I envy your location, nice and close to the Patton Museum....a great place for researching those armour kits.

Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Tracy,
Welcome to the forum! The member list is growing every day and personally I'm glad to see some diversity in the members. Makes for much more interesting conversation. I think you'll find a good mix of people here. From beginners right through to experts (I'm probably more on the beginner side, but I've got a big mouth so I spend more time on the forum than I do building...)

Check out the Community Build Project. Might be of interest to you!!

Shermanfreak,

Yes it is pretty nice being that close to the patton museum, just wish I had more chances to go up there. As far as learning, I learn something new on each kit it seems nowadays mainly "why don't you remember your basic construction techniques?" There is always more to learn that's what makes the hobby so much fun.

Mkish,

Thanks for the welcome, as I said I'm glad this things cookin'. As far as diversity that's one of the best parts of the whole. the club I belong to is pretty well a mixed bag of genre and experience and it's been going strong since 1974 (well kinda strong there were a few rough spots but such is life) I'm gonna go check out the community build now
Thanks,
Tracy
