Finally ready to say hello

My name is Richard. I've been a member since last Xmas. I've been posting for a little while now and reading the other posts since I joined. Everyone seems pretty cool here. I'm married and the father of two autistic chidren. I haven't modeled for a very long time and hope to start again after the new year. My current interest is modern naval warships but submarines (especially the nukes) are my main interest. I should tell you that when I was a teen I had a BF109 squadron that I could have won the Battle of Britain with and my favorite Tamiya kit is still the 88mm flak, and we won't even talk about the1/700 Imperial Japanese Navy. I am a serious research hound so if anyone is building a sub out there and has a question I would be glad to try to help. (Except u-boats, everybody does u-boats)
