Hi. My name is Gary Mason and I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I model almost exclusively in 1/48th aircraft, but, if I want to build a subject that's just too large in 48th (B-17, YB-35, etc), I'll build it in 1/72nd. I have about 80 unbuilt kits, and three that are in progress. The in-progress kits are: Tamiya 1/32 F-15E (on-going since Feb 2000), Hasegawa 1/48 F-4E (just need to finish the canopy and glue it on), and a Hasegawa 1/48 F/A-18D Hornet (still needs paint, canopy, and the little external parts added).
I work on cancer treatment equipment for a living, and that keeps me on the road a lot. I cover Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kentucky, so I only get to work on my models sporadically, unfortunately.
I love this new website, and, in particular, this modeling forum. I've been perusing the threads tonight, and was impressed with the amount of advice being passed on by all the very experienced modelers out there. I've been modeling since I was about 6 years old, but only got seriously back in to it back in 1994. I'm looking forward to learning all of the tricks and tips that I can, and maybe passing on some knowledge of my own. I'm good with electronics, so if anyone needs some advice in that area, just let me know. Maybe motor controls for props, lighting, etc.
Well, that's all I have. I look forward to reading new things here everyday. It's just amazing how many different ways there are to do the same thing, huh?
