Well, howdy neighbor! Building models seems a bit more difficult here in SE asia, but if you really love it you can always improvise! The solution to finding the courage to start a kit: build it because you think it's going to be fun! Smile [:)] I sometimes buy kits on impulse because i know i'll be smiling all through painting, glueing and decaling.

Which one are you going to start first, then? If it's the F-16C and you have questions about it, just pop into the Aircraft forum. The guys/girls here love to answer that kind of stuff!

Oh, and welcome to the forums, Dikun! Big Smile [:D]

hi dikun and obiwan

i'm from malaysia too...n.sembilan. working in KLIA. e-mail me for any gatherings or any activities at all. nabol@hotmail.com

actually u can find quite cheap models at unexpected places. For instance last Dec while at a mall in Penang, I found 1/72 trumpeter jet fighters for RM9.90 which is US2.50 and I end up buying 3 boxes. Can't afford to buy TAMIYAs as they are very expensive...over priced actually.

have a great modelling day guys...

Hi Dikun.
Welcome aboard. If you have any questions at all, just go to the right forum and ask.
I've never seen a topic that doesn't get an answer to a question.
And don't forget - we all started someplace - nobody "started" out as an experienced modeller.
As Granpa used to say, "The only stupid question is the one you DON'T ask".

Hi Dikun, Just get a couple cheap kits and build them fairly quickly. Don't get slowed down with a lot of details. Shoot for a few neatly finished kits. This will give you some needed practice and we will be here to help.

Welcome Dikun.

Chances are your first few models wont be show winners anyway, just like most of ours weren't. So just build them. As you build you can ask questions of the modelers here to improve you skills.

First of all, welcome to FSM Dikun.

Secondly, there is a specific forum called the Aircraft Forum where a lot of A/C guys discuss things about aircrafts. I suggest that you prepare a list of questions that you have in mind and post them in the said forum. I am sure that you will not be disappointed as the guys are always happy to help.

I myself have built a couple of 1/72 aircraft kits and I am very satisfied with them. At this time however, I am concentrating on armor or specifically tanks.

See you around.

Hi..from Malaysia

Hi.. all,
I am new to modelling but I have been interested in the subject for a very long time now. My room mate in college (I attended college in the State back in early 1990s) was into this big time, and I witnessed first hand how passionate you can be on the subject. I have been collecting several models such as 1/72 F16C by Revell, 1/48 CH64 Apache, several ships and a few others. But they are all practically still in their boxes. I have to work out the courage to start with them, and it's not easy if you have to rely on 10 observations made 10 years earlier.
I am hoping that you guys could give me some advice as I work on my projects. Thanks.
