"The Boxart Den"-My Apologies
Posted by craviola990 on Monday, July 28, 2008 3:12 PM

Good afternoon-

I wish to extend my apologies to the members here, and to Kelly for the posts regarding my website. I had NO IDEA it would cause such an uproar! Ironically, I've been causing an uproar most of my life.

Our vintage box art archiving project is something that we have been working very hard on for over 10 years now.

Our site is also something that we are VERY PROUD of; the amount of work that we have completed on the efforts of PASSION ALONE, is, I think, quite staggering, as this is strictly a volunteer effort on the fine folks involved.

I would also like to make mention of my three partners at "The Den"; each one of them served their country, and are retired servicemen. One in the U.S. Navy, one in the U.S. Air Force, and the gentleman that has been by my side since the inception of this operation, served in BOTH the U.S Army AND Air Force, to say nothing of also being a Viet Nam vet.

As I've said, we are very proud of the accomplishments that we have made, as we are the ONLY model kit box art site on this planet that displays beautifully restored box art in ALL genres.

We have also received FULL ENDORSEMENT & PERMISSION from Revell, Inc. to present our COMPLETE display of their line of trading cards, and "Master Modeler Stamps" from the early 1960's.

When I was informed by Kelly (Who sent me a cordial note, BTW) that SEVERAL members were complaining about my posts, I was a bit surprised. I had always thought that the whole purpose of the digital age was to "Get people together" more easily, and I wasn't after any kind of "Gain" from this, just excited and proud of our website.

I will respect the board's wishes and make no further posts regarding "The Boxart Den". In return, I would apreciate the respect & acknowledgement for our accomplishments. I have dedicated the last decade of my life to this operation; even forgoing a regular job and steady paycheck to see this webseum grow.

I would also like to make mention of our esteemed, and highly valued members; we are over 700 strong now, and MANY of these folks have contributed a HERCULEAN amount of time and effort in scanning rare kit boxes for us; time they could have spent with their families, going for a Sunday drive, etc.

If anyone is interested in perusing our site, please feel free to send me a personal email at:

craviola880@msn.com

Again, my apologies, and I will take to adverstising our fine website elsewhere.

Respectfully,

Christian Bryan/Co-owner, "The Boxart Den"

Well Craviola.....If one knows the rules here......it is FSM's site. I don't think it's a case of picking on anyone in particular. But then some of us may want Kelly to view us favorably in case we mess up somehow!Laugh [(-D]

If it helps.....I made a faux pas shortly after joining FSM, but I was set straight by another member and was directed to the 'rules of engagement'.

Against my better judgement, but the credibility of this apology is stretched beyond reason when you start wearing your medals in public for the purpose of selling something.
