Thank you to all who have donated

Greetings All,

I am deployed to Camp Liberty, Baghdad, and have access to the Baghdad Hobby Club. It has been a God send! The time spent building models takes my mind off of the "reality" of this situation. As a deployed National Guardsman, and an avid modeler at home, this helps to make us less home sick. As to donations to specific units, the Baghdad Hobby Club is run by KBR logistics, a civillian contracting agency who runs the building it is located in, formerly Saddams theater. The club is open to all service men in the area, so there is no one unit that gets them all. Since it is run by KBR, there is no problem of closing due to troop rotation. I thank you ALL who have sacrificed to send kits our way.

You're welcome, Sarge!

But you have it backwards, YOU are the ones making the sacrifice! We're sitting on our butts back home, warm and dry, and living in our comfortable ruts, while you're there hanging your butt out getting shot at! All we've done is pass along a little paint and some kits. No Big!

I AM glad to hear that you appreciate the kits! Maybe FSM could do a gallery of the hobby clubs work?

God bless and come home safe!

Bill Grigg

Mr Grigg,

Thank you for your comments. As far as a gallery, these models are not really FSM quality. There is very limited supplies and tools. At first I was very frustrated with the way they turned out with mostly brush paint and some Iraqi spray paint(horrible quality). But then realized where I was and just enjoyed it and did the best I could. I sure miss my airbrush tho, never know what you got until its gone eh?

I know what you mean, here I am with my full setup, airbrush & decent paints, and I'm still not FSM quality! Sad [:(] From where I'm sitting the quality is in the soldier. And that damn fine stuff, worthy of any magazine!

The trick in life is to appreciate what you have before it's gone, a lesson I see you've learned!

So long folks!

Sir,

Thank you for your encouraging words. When I can get to download my camera I will post a few pictures of some recent kits.

Not off the top of my head, I will try to check for you. You might have to start your own. Let me know and I'll do what I can to help you out!

I will talk to the powers that be about having a feature gallery of work from soldiers overseas.

To my friends currently in the sandbox, are there any security restrictions regarding printing your name and where you currently are in the magazine??

Jeff,

According to my unit, a general discription of the area is fine, ie; (Baghdad, Mosul...) As well as the MOS, ie; (combat Engineer, Infantry....) Of course this will change with each individual units SOP.
