Shipping Restrictions
Posted by Dr. Harry Fingers on Monday, December 18, 2006 4:04 PM
I just got a reply from Camp Delta that my first shipment of kits and supplies was received and appreciated but I've got a question for the forum: What glues can safely be shipped to modelers in the sandbox? My contact in Delta talked of having to go to Baghdad to get glue to build the kits; not a good thing! I'd love to hear from others who've shipped adhesives overseas with success. Somehow my next shipment is going to include sticky stuff! Thanks for your help.

Super glue - cyanoacrylate - is about the only choice, since it's not considered a flammable or explosive risk. My local hobby shop sells smaller plastic squeeze bottles of the stuff, and I included half a dozen in my care box to the troops.

Rez-N-Bond is also NOT flammable, this is written clearly and in bold on the can. This is a liquid cement very compatible with styrene and acrylic, but NOT with resin. It's like using water on resin. Just some info on this subject if it helps.
