Shipping address for kits to troops??
Posted by Miss Jackie on Monday, March 12, 2007 9:48 AM
Way back when, I'd planned on building planes,
trains, spaceships, and the occasional butt-ugly armored
vehicle. What was I thinking! These days I own enough
aircraft kits to re-fight every major conflict of the 20th century,
but only a dozen or so tank kits.

It's time I sent those kits to some of our troops so they'll
get built before I go to that Great Workbench in the Sky!
Any CURRENT addresses and suggestions from those of you
who have already done so?

Thanks - John (well, "Miss Jackie"...)

Hi (John) Miss Jackie!

As a servicemember who had been deployed overseas a few times, i would first off like to thank you for your show of support. Often times it's the littlest guesture or kind word that makes a huge difference in any servicemember away from his family and loved ones.

Unfortunately with security issues, obtaining addresses on soliders/sailors/marines/airmen can be more difficult. It used to be that you could send "To any servicemember" and it would go through. But with terrorist acts through the postal service (like the anthrax laced letters in 2001/2002), the military postal system is alot more cautious these days. Your best bet is to go through the red cross, or through the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) office on any military post and they should steer you in the right direction.

Best of luck to you on your mission of kindness, and God Bless you!

Warmest regards,

Roger

John, you can go to http://www.ipmsusa.org/ and click on the Support Our Troops link. It will take you to a current list of contacts.

Hi John

See my post Re: Kits for Kandahar 2 in this forum. The address is current and the kits are to be flown to Kandahar Airfield by a Hercules aircraft.

Cheers;

Gregory
