This is a very doable road trip for me, coming from northern Colorado, so may have to see if I can swing it. There's also a neat little military vehicle museum in Lexington, NE, which is very much worth the stop if you're passing that way.

"Some say the alien didn't die in the crash. It survived and drank whiskey and played poker with the locals 'til the Texas Rangers caught wind of it and shot it dead."
I have never been to a contest and I would like to visit this. Where in Omaha is it? And when?

Only 9 months to go!
Been travelling for a week and missed this. I just moved to Grand Island NE from a smaller town in North central Nebraska so I'm only a couple hours away!!! I am so there! Cornhusker modelers unite!

Ironically, when I wrote the post above^^^ I had no plans to move to the Pacific Northwest. A little more than a 'doable road trip' for me now. LOL Have fun, guys!

My wife and I went to Omaha this weekend to watch our Aggies in the College World Series. Really nice city with a dynamic downtown scene. Plenty of great restaurants too.

Due to work schedule I will only be able to attend Friday's gathering. Meaning I will drive up from San Antonio on Thursday and drive back on Saturday.
There is good news in this. The wife was willing to spend $700 bucks so I won't have to drive 2,000 miles in three days. So I said, the heck with that if you are willing to spent $700 bucks I will drive and save myself $500 dollars to put to the purchase of new kits. Man 0 man I hope their are a few great ship kits for sale when I get there on Friday.
