I'll be there as usual. I'll either be working the club tables or sneaking off looking for deals and checking out the entries. Since they will be having Star Wars cosplay people there I was thinking of wearing my Battlestar jacket, I figure why not, someone should.
Just a reminder, if you are going to the contest you, and I, have to hurry up and get entries registered on line to save time and some money when youi get there. Just go to the face book page to do it. If you wait there's no telling how long the line will be or how much time you will need to fill out the form.
IKAR01, I'm not going to compete. I will be in Orlando on vacation with my family during the event. I just thought I would drop in to look at the builds and visit the vendors area. Can't get much as it will be packed in luggage and taken on a plane.
Maybe I'll get to sdee you there. My wife is running the club's table and I'll be running around as much as I can until I get a call from her to return to the table. I'm considering wearing my Battlestar jacket I bought back in the 70s because I hear there will be Star Wars people wondering around. If you want, I can send you my phone number.
I'll be wearing a blue angels t-shirt
Modelpalooza is still on! The hotel reported no damage and they are ready for us.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
See you there on Saturday, should be fun..
Was just looking this morning at my normal directions. I think I'll take the highway. With all the flooding in central Florida I'm not sure if my normal route will be an issue.
We should have the wife's car packed up and be out of the house early Saturday morning to get there for the setup. I will have to bring my Battlestar warrior jacket and maybe my laser pistol too.
Hope you guys have a great time, and get to see each other.
Wish I were there. We are leaving for our appt south of Chicago in a couple hours instead.
The weather's better down here.
See you tomorrow at the show, perhaps we can catch a lunch or something as well
I'm here if you want to find me. Dk. BLUE BLUE Angels shirt

Thanks,

keavdogTake lots of pictures please!
Yes, please! I'd love to see the vendor areas.
I think we missed each other today. My wife was at the club table and I did some wondering around while I got my models set on the tables. If you are there tomorrow, have my wife call me if I'm not there.
Sorry guys didn't take pics. Forgot my phone cord and needed charge for GPS. There was quite a few nice builds on the tables.
Its interesting to note that area is considered Central Florida and there are quite a few model clubs. Down here in SW Florida there are none unless I want to drive an hour each way
Nice show Orlando. There was definitely some modeling skills on display at all levels. My whole family looked through both the competion and vendor areas. The Star Wars cosplay members made it extra special, and let's not forget about the raffle, viewers voting, and food service areas. This was a well fun and enjoyable event. Sorry I missed everyone but those we did meet made this show extra special. I did get some photos of most categories and I will post them when I get hone.

Did you see the junior level diorama of two Gundam suits fighting on the side of a hill where they had destroyed a highway and people were trying to get out of the area? It was well done by a kid I met just before we had the awards. He was maybe 8-9 and was with his Father. This kid is going tobe a stiff competetor in the future. I gave him some reference books and a model to possibly encourage him and told his Father to look up the club and go to the meetings. He happily left with two model boats, and two aircraft and about 15 reference books..
That was very kind of you to do that IKAR. I hope he persues the hobby. Its great to see people supporting young people .
Funny you brought him up as I also met him and his father while at the show. His father also brought two different war hammer fantasy figures to compete. I actually took a photo of that Gundam fighting figures dio. And will share it shortly. For a junior he has skills!.... nice father and son too.
